Kylie Rynn

Kylie and I have spent a lot of time together on Phantasy Star Online.  She represents both pure power and darkness.  Her personality is no so much 'evil', per se, as 'humans, by nature, will commit horrible acts.  I don't feel like wasting my effort trying to do otherwise.'  She does have a lot of good in her, though, as shown in her students and friends, such as Aleste or Lily.

Maleficia

Maleficia is a great fiend of mine on Phantasy Star Online.  I've known her since about level 8, in January, and we've fought alongside each other from there until level 100, where we both are.  Some of my best memories on Phantasy Star Online were spent back to back with Maleficia.

Aleste

Aleste, android servant to Kylie Rynn.  In the scheme of things, she represents 'Truth', in that her computerized mind can learn and understand without being forced to add the bias of morality to the situation.  She is a student, and works with the other androids in 'Maiden Circuit', her guild.

Shaia

Meet my newest RPG character, for a promising campaign Matt's running in the coming weeks.  Shaia here is a spirited dancer, shown left in cuteness and on the right in more subdued travelling garb.  In addition to being just a great looking character, the shading on both pictures turned out fantastically.  All in all, I'm psyched about taking on Shaia's role in a changing world.

RPG Club ads

I did seven sketches for flyers to advertise the UCI RPG club.  From left to right, warrior, mage, rogue, bard, paladin, artisan, and dreamers (roleplayers).  An example of one of the flyers is here, too.

Aleste Sinclair

Aleste was my whip master from a short wacky Dungeons and Dragons session.  He had a 30 Dexterity, and was surprisingly fun to play - since I could do nearly anything I wanted with my whip.  Note that Aleste always had a sad look on his face...the look I was going for was something like 'it's not worth it to smile.'

Kyrie Tahn

Kyrie is one of my favorite Dungeons and Dragons characters.  She became real for me when she stayed behind in a hopeless battle against a black dragon to protect a friend in danger.  With my characters, there's usually a defining moment when they stop being concepts and start being people.

Francesca Velos Kerrigan

Francesca was a character with great growth potential.  In a campaign filled with high-powered characters, she had nearly no offensive abilities, just social skills.  She was meant to truly live out the story of the nothing who made something of themself, but our campaign didn't last long enough for her to shine.

Kaede Shirostrom

This German/Japanese fireball was my character in an ill-fated Virtual On online RPG.  In online RPGs, I can be somewhat more thoughtful, which is why Kaede is my most strategic and far-seeing character.  In the RPG timeline, she died in a massive nuclear blast, but in my mind she and her squadron live on.

Kylie Rynn

Kylie's my Phantasy Star Online character.  Female, Force, Neuman, Level 100, and tough as nails.  I sometimes call her the 'Dark Force' because of how violently I play her.  She's named after Kylie from the comic, but similarities stop there.  The first picture is my celebratory Level 100 drawing.  The second is just her looking great with her scythe, Soul Eater.  And the third is a scene from her backstory, putting down a riot on Pioneer 2.  All in all, a very interesting and dangerous girl.
